Al-Baqiyat Al-Salihat Association, a member of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, participated in marking the International Day of Older Persons
Al-Baqiyat Al-Salihat Association, a member of the National Alliance, participated in marking the International Day of Older Persons through an integrated system of specialized health, psychological, and social services it provides to the elderly and Alzheimer's patients.
Dar Abi Wa Dar Omi is one of the largest specialized long-term care homes in Egypt, comprising an integrated building consisting of four floors with a capacity of up to 140 residents. Its services are supervised by a group of Egyptian university professors and highly trained care teams, in line with the latest international codes in this field.
The association also completed its service system by establishing the Alzheimer's Academy, the first of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world. This Academy trains caregivers on 10 professional, health, psychological, and social levels, while also raising community awareness of the rights of the elderly and how to deal with Alzheimer's patients. The association is scheduled to soon open the Dr. Abla El-Kahlawy Hospital for Alzheimer's and Elderly Care, the first hospital of its kind in Egypt, the Arab world, and Africa to be established by a civil society organization. Covering an area of 7,876 square meters, the six-story building will have a capacity of up to 100 beds. It includes an integrated system for early diagnosis of the disease, as well as specialized departments for intensive care, wound management, therapeutic nutrition, mental health, and geriatrics, ensuring a comprehensive therapeutic environment in accordance with the latest international standards.
This comes within the framework of the efforts of the National Alliance for Civil Development to support the elderly, enhance their integrated care, and protect Alzheimer's patients, embodying the humanitarian and solidarity values of Egyptian society.
